The inaugural Brave American Classic was created from sophomore, Robbie Veltre (Sewickley, PA) as a Sophomore project at Quaker Valley High School. Students were asked to choose a project reflecting their passion, and complete that project during the school year. Robbie chose to organize a run/walk benefitting Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness because he is a passionate cross country/track runner, and because his father, Rob Veltre is a current Board member of Boulder Crest, who is also passionate about the Retreat. He very much wanted to make a positive impact by raising awareness about the Retreat's impact on our nation's combat veterans and their families. The first Brave American Classic was hosted on February 25, 2012 at War Memorial Park in Sewickley PA, and continues to grow larger and better each year!
