Who can stay at the Retreat?

Boulder Crest Retreat Arizona is a rural sanctuary where combat veterans, first responders, and their families, can enjoy recreational and therapeutic activities aimed at assisting with their physical, mental, financial and spiritual wellness.

Is there a fee to stay at Boulder Crest Retreat?

No, there are no costs associated with your stay at Boulder Crest Retreat Arizona. However, if you choose to take part in any off-site recreational activities, you may be subject to regular fees through those providers.

How do I make a reservation?

Booking and confirming a stay at Boulder Crest Retreat Arizona consists of 4 easy steps:

1. Submit your reservation request under the reservations tab of the website. 

2. After submitting your reservation request, check your email for a Request Confirmation which has the links to our Online Application and our Pre-Stay Survey. Fill out and submit both,

3. Email all necessary supporting documents to thelodge@bouldercrestretreat.org. Supporting documents include a current military ID (if retired, or discharged, a DD214), and a narrative outlining your combat service, and telling us about yourself, your family, and what you hope to get out of your stay here. If you are planning on bringing a service dog, you will also need to supply a copy of the animal's shot records.

4. Wait for final confirmation! Note: a reservation request is NOT a complete reservation. Making a reservation request online will hold a booking for 5 days, during which time you will need to fill out and submit the application, survey, identification, and narrative. Once all 4 items have been received by us, the reservation is processed, and completed. Incomplete reservations are cancelled after 5 days. 

when is Check in and Check out?

Check in is between 4PM and 5PM. Check out is at 11AM. If you are unable to arrive between the window, please contact the office to make special arrangements.

How long can I stay?

Guests may book a Family Rest and Reconnection stay at Boulder Crest Retreat Arizona anywhere between 2-7 nights. 

I want to come back! How often can I book a stay?

In order to serve as many families as possible, there is a limit of one Family Rest & Reconnection stay per family, per calendar year. Structured retreat programs do not count towards a family's annual R&R stay. 

What do I bring?

We have plenty of outdoor activities, so depending on the time of year, you may want to consider bringing bathing suits, hiking shoes, rain boots, bug spray, sunscreen, etc. Please check Sonoita weather for your dates to get a better idea of what to pack.

Do I need to bring my own bedding and towels?

No. Fresh linens and towels are provided.

Is the Retreat pet friendly?

Only Service dogs are allowed to join you for your stay.

What on-site activities are offered at the Retreat?

Boulder Crest Retreat Arizona is home to a nature trail, stocked fishing pond, archery range, horse paddock, labyrinth, meditation tent, and children’s playground - more information about these activities is available here. In addition, there may be scheduled therapies and activities taking place in the Lodge, depending on your dates of stay. These activities are all free of charge and fully ADA accessible. If guests are interested in other activities, please contact the office BEFORE the date of your arrival to schedule a date and time for your chosen activities. Please note that outdoor activities are subject to weather and instructor availability. 

what doES THE LODGING include

Each lodging is fully equipped to include electricity, running water, and wi-fi.

Will food be provided?

You are responsible for providing your own food during your stay. Each lodging has a beautifully-equipped kitchen inclusive of cooking utensils and condiments.

How many people does THE RETREAT sleep?

The Retreat sleeps a total of 28 in various configurations.

We do not provide daily housekeeping services or linen change during your stay. In order to ensure the beauty of the cabins and site, we ask that you leave the place just as you found it. Thank you for doing your part to help preserve the condition of our facility and grounds for future guests.
